Online Counselling

What it's like

Meeting online might be your preferred choice, and something you immediately feel comfortable with, or it might be an unintended but necessary switch from in-person sessions. Changing the method of communication introduces new challenges and opportunities. Very often it begins to feel 'normal' after just the first online session.

Finding a safe and private space

You might have a room at home or work that provides you with the privacy and confidentiality that is so important in counselling. If not, a little creative thinking is required. For example, driving your car to a safe, tranquil location might give you the space that's needed.

Getting connected

The recommended video link application is 'Zoom', which is similar to 'Skype' but with greater security. It's free and straightforward to use on your desktop computer, laptop, tablet or 'phone.

Before the first session

If you are at the beginning of counselling, our first meeting will be an Initial Consultation. This 30 minute online appointment will give you the opportunity to tell me about the areas of your life you might like to explore in counselling. I will answer any questions you have about online sessions, and also tell you about how I work. This will help us to decide if we feel suited to work together.

Making payments

Payments are made before each meeting via bank transfer. Costs are as follows:

Initial Consultation (30 min): £20

Session (50 min): £45
